Little Green Stilettos

Anyway, Cinderella is actually quite green. Her ball gown was made from rags (with a little help from Fairy Godmother), her glass slippers are totally vegan and recyclable, and you can't imagine that her cleaning products contained any nasty chemicals. Most of all though, her transport was totally green. I mean how much carbon emission would a pumpkin and some mice have? I have already written about offsetting my air travel (Low Calorie Air Travel )and we have offset our car emissions, but I still had the problem of taxis (I do have a bus pass, but Sydney is not the easiest place to get around on public transport especially when you have to be at the airport at 6:30 am). I was so thrilled to find greentomatos - a totally eco taxi service in Sydney (Perth and Melbourne also have green taxis as do most major cities). All their cars are hybrids and they offset twice the amount of any remaining emissions. It is totally like having a glamorously green car...plus, they show up on time, have the most delightful drivers and let you know how much the fare is in advance. Yes, it is a bit more expensive than a regular taxi, but not more than a hire car. So go ahead, do a Cinderella...be green and glam and catch a greentomato. xxx
